WTF: Mars Argo / Poppy / Titanic / Court Battle?!

Who/What Are These People & Why Do We Care SO MUCH?

Mars Argo was the name of a band/Internet project consisting of an at-the-time couple named Brittany Sheets and Corey Mixter, who both went/presently go by the stage names Mars Argo (self titled Band) and Titanic Sinclair, and they pretty much built up a massive internet cult following between the years of 2009 - 2014 (their following / popculture interest continues presently to grow, but you'll see...)...

They were a bit weird.

Both blatantly very eccentric personalities fused together on our screens created such a magnetic vibe of feeling uncertain while simultaneously 'getting it' the whole time. They filmed videos of themselves just being vacant and odd, repeating random phrases such as "Delete your Facebook!" in almost-possessed voices, standing around in distorted poses and an array of other questionable behaviours, but there's absolutely no debating the fact that there was 100% something about those eerie clips that always had us utterly mesmerised. Aside from the bizarre home-videos, the couple also released music (fuckin' good music, if you ask me) which also had a huge fan following. It was wild, man.

Anyway. One day, Mars just vanished.

POOOF. Gone. Into thin air. Nobody knew where Mars Argo (Brittany Sheets) had wandered off to. She wasn't updating any of her social media accounts, all of her YouTube videos except for 3 were either deleted or had their privacy settings changed... It was as though she had decided to break up with the entire world overnight.

Titanic, however, was still very much active & now had a new sidekick (now confirmed as his girlfriend) who was delighted to tell us over and over and over and over and over again that her name was POPPY (real name Moriah Rose Pereira) . The robotic repetitiveness & lack of any distinguishable human emotion was not the only thing immediately unsettling about Titanic's new partner... Her resemblance to his ex was uncanny; bleach blonde hair, doll-like makeup, an innocent, childlike manner... As I said before, the Mars Argo project/band had a pretty much cult-following, so fans weren't slow to point out the similarities between Mars and newbie Poppy (who apparently also goes by the name "I Am Poppy", but I don't understand why anybody is entertaining the idea that a statement can be a name!).

Poppy soon began to climb up the YouTube popularity ladder, releasing several strange yet satisfying short videos directed by Titanic &, like the Mars Argo project, creating catchy music with a very specific vibe. Poppy released a 3 minute long video of her repeating the words "Repeat your Facebook", much like Mars had years prior. More and more Mars Argo fans were getting sketched out by this entire thing - they're sitting there thinking 'Who IS this girl and where is OUR girl?!', so they kept asking that very question. There are several YouTube videos where fans can be heard shouting "Where's Mars?" during Poppy performances, these questions are never answered.

The mystery grew. The conspiracies started. Was Mars alive or had something perhaps happened to her? Was Titanic involved, or was he distraught & trying to do his best? In

May 2015 Titanic released two music videos, 'Guppy' & 'Trust Fund' which were clearly aimed at Mars, the tone was sour & it was evident that something had gone south. With still no signal of life or clue as to what might be going on with Mars, the curiosity got too much for fans & the rumour mill began to spin. Was Poppy a humanoid replacement so that Titanic could finish the project he'd started with his ex?

Titanic, as absurd as he may be, is clearly a very intelligent bloke (manipulation is definitely a form of intelligence, isn't it?). He picked up on the absolute thirst coming from fans, the desperate need for some answers... So what did he do? He gave us more questions. You've got to keep them wanting more, that's show-business!!

More & more strange videos were created by Titanic, starring Poppy (and also a mannequin with substance abuse issues - her name is Charlotte - a plant and a skeleton). Many people believe the videos contain subliminal messages (what would they be trying to brainwash us to do?! I don't know!) while others are pretty confident that the entire thing is nothing more than a publicity stunt... & a very clever one at that! The last video ever published by Mars Argo was exactly 3 minutes 36 seconds long (3:36). Poppy began to reference this number in her videos, along with a lot of other weird shit that you just really wouldn't do if you were a normal person... But hey, who am I to judge?! People clocked on & it became A Thing. You know.... Just... A Thing.

Fast forward a few years, the #MeToo movement has gained a wonderful amount of attention & support, & it only went and encouraged Mars Argo (Brittany Sheets) to come out of the woodwork & file a lawsuit against Titanic & Poppy for "severe emotional and psychological abuse and manipulation", claiming that both Poppy & Titanic (again, real name Corey) have stalked her, intruded in to her home & broken property, ripped off several of her work ideas /previous professional concepts (it has now come to light that Mars had been working on a solo project after parting with Titanic, this solo project was titled 'Guppy', sound familiar?) along with provoked intimidation (& if you ask me, stalking - they both enrolled to the same school she was studying Japanese at after learning of her attendance) , & using references to her throughout their own 'project' which has resulted in their fan base flourishing as the conspiracy has continued to grow.

Both Titanic & Poppy have been active on social media since the whole ordeal came out last week, but neither of them have addressed or even acknowledged the issue. I did find one video which claimed that the pair have been deleting several Tweets over the last week, but I was unable to find which exact Tweets they were in reference to.

Several fans have screenshotted Poppy's profile after they had been blocked for asking her questions on the issue.

The radio silence on this could be a case of court rules / lawyers telling them not to talk, I don't know. I don't know what the hell I'd expect either of them to say. The whole thing is unbelievable in the sense that you really can't believe it's real, but it's very important that we don't let the ridiculousness of their fame infringe on the importance of what's going on. I've read a few blogs already about how Mars is 'making the whole thing up' for attention so that she can plan her comeback; I think accusations like this are absolutely disgusting. In wake of the MeToo movement, to question another woman over whether or not she is a genuine victim is appalling. Of course, this doesn't mean that we should all start a witch hunt against Titanic nor Poppy; we aren't involved (as much as we fuckin' wish we were!!) & we don't know WTF is going on - we may never know - so until we do we have to just sit back and wait for official, credible updates.
